Officiant Ed Philips

JFP_0943-EditI grew up on Lake Ontario in Rochester, New York, but have lived in Tampa for 40 years.  I love Florida and am proud that my ancestors actually helped settle this State as pioneers.  Tampa has been my home since I graduated from University of South Florida and started my career here.

I first started officiating weddings four years ago as a Notary Officiate when friends of mine asked me to write and conduct their service for them.  They said to me, “You know us best; we’d love for you to marry us.”  So, as a favor, I wrote and officiated for them.  After that ceremony, 4 couples came up to me and said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever seen and asked me to do their services (2 for their wedding and 2 for their 20 year vow renewal ceremony

My background is diverse.  I have been an Executive Director of an international para-church ministry for 5 years and the Director of Instruction for Dale Carnegie Training in Tampa Bay for 14 years. I have served on the staff of 4 churches and I have my own consulting business where I do corporate training and development.  I have worked closely with Fortune 500 companies as well as “mom and pop” businesses to develop their people and systems.  I currently am the Chapter President of a Christian based CEO round table in Tampa Bay called Truth @ Work where I work closely with 20 business owners and their teams to improve their companies and create a healthier culture in their companies.

It’s a lot of fun working with great couples and making them very happy about one of the most important days in their lives. My objective is to provide them with exactly what they want on several levels ranging from civil, to traditional, to contemporary or religious.  The way this happens is by listening to their hearts and making that become reality.  I am very blessed to help create something beautiful, romantic and meaningful that will be remembered by couples and those they love for years to come.

Sincerely,

Ed Phillips
