Holly and Joshua
Holly and Joshua’s Historic Dunedin Wedding at Andrews Memorial Chapel
When Holly and Joshua began planning their wedding, they wanted something intimate, meaningful, and filled with history. They found the perfect setting at Historic Andrews Memorial Chapel in Dunedin, Florida, where old-world charm and a beautiful love story came together for a memorable Florida wedding ceremony.
Holly and Joshua contacted Victoria with Intimate Weddings of Tampa to arrange the details of their intimate wedding package. Located in the charming coastal community of Dunedin, Historic Andrews Memorial Chapel offered exactly the kind of romantic and timeless atmosphere they were looking for.
A Historic Dunedin Wedding Venue
Historic Andrews Memorial Chapel has a fascinating story that makes it much more than just a beautiful wedding venue.
In 1876, B.M. Brown, one of Dunedin’s original 12 homesteaders, and the Emerson family donated land for the construction of a church. Allan G. Andrews pledged $200 toward construction in memory of his late son.
Today, the chapel is one of the oldest remaining church buildings in Dunedin.
In 1970, the Dunedin Historical Society saved the historic church from destruction by relocating it to its current location at the entrance to Hammock Park. The building was actually cut in half so it could be moved! Restoration began in 1974, and the chapel was eventually added to the National Register of Historic Places.
That history gives couples something special that a newer wedding venue simply can’t duplicate.
Inside, the chapel has a charming Victorian design featuring Florida heart pine, Gothic archways, hand-carved details, and a stunning beamed ceiling designed to resemble the hull of a ship. The seventeen-foot-long hand-carved pews date back to the late 1800s, while the stained-glass window above the pulpit is original to the building.
It is a truly romantic setting for a Dunedin wedding ceremony.
A Meaningful Wedding Ceremony
Holly looked beautiful as her father escorted her down the aisle to join Joshua at the wedding altar.
Their custom-designed ceremony was personal and meaningful, incorporating The Blessing of the Hands along with Scripture readings from Romans 12 and Colossians 3.
With their family and friends gathered around them—and their children serving as attendants—Holly and Joshua exchanged heartfelt vows and wedding rings before being pronounced husband and wife by Rev. Rick Lackore, a Dunedin wedding officiant with Sensational Ceremonies.
For couples planning a religious or traditional wedding ceremony, personalizing the service can make the experience even more meaningful. Including readings, family traditions, and symbolic ceremonies allows the wedding to reflect the couple rather than simply following a standard script.
Beautiful Flowers and Photography
The romantic setting was enhanced with a beautiful bouquet and boutonniere from Iza’s Flowers.
Every detail helped create the classic wedding atmosphere Holly and Joshua envisioned.
Special thanks also goes to Tammy Lackore with True Love Photography for capturing the beautiful photograph from their ceremony. Having professional wedding photography is especially important when you’re getting married in a historic venue. The photographs preserve not only the couple’s emotions but also the architectural details and character of the chapel.
A Perfect Dunedin Wedding
Holly and Joshua’s wedding is a wonderful example of why couples choose intimate weddings in Dunedin, Florida. They didn’t need a huge ballroom or hundreds of guests to create an unforgettable wedding day.
Instead, they chose a historic chapel, surrounded themselves with the people they loved, incorporated meaningful traditions, and focused on what mattered most—their commitment to one another and their family.
For couples searching for a historic wedding venue in Dunedin, a romantic Florida wedding chapel, or an intimate wedding ceremony in the Tampa Bay area, Historic Andrews Memorial Chapel offers a setting with genuine character and history.
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Joshua and Holly King!
May your marriage be filled with love, laughter, family, and many beautiful years together.
