NOLA Style

In typical NOLA style, Michael and Whitney Howard “Tied the Knot” at Tomas Bristo in New Orleans, LA. Whitney a New Yorker and Michael from Alabama wanted to share their destination wedding, by sharing with their guest their passion for fun-loving culture, delicious food, and great music,  by celebrating it in New Orleans.

The couple worked with Rev. Steve Trahan a New Orleans Officiant with Sensational Ceremonies to create a ceremony that was just as fun-loving as the two of them and fit their NOLA style they were looking for..  Incorporated into their ceremony was the Wine Box Ceremony but instead of wine they celebrated with bourbon. Rev. Steve said, I’d like to draw your attention to the box in front of Michael and Whitney They have written letters to each other expressing their feelings as they begin their marriage.  We will include these letters in the box along with a bottle of bourbon.  Together we will close this box, and on the happy occasion of their anniversary, they will open the box, read the letters, drink the bourbon, and add new letters to the box.  As time passes, they will have a record of the yearly reflection on their relationship and a living document of the growth and depth of their ever-evolving relationship.  Should you ever find your marriage enduring serious difficulties though, I am asking that before you make any irrational decisions, that you both, as a couple, open the box, read the letters, and have a drink together

After their ceremony the party extended into the street of New Orleans with a traditional New Orleans 2nd Line Parade. Rev. Steve Trahan, a Louisiana native,  was honored to be a part of this wedding celebration
