Luke and Kelly
Luke and Kelly met while in college and traveled from Dallas Texas to get married at the Swan Reserve at Walt Disney World. With breathtaking views this incredible venue has views that showcase the major tourist destinations in Orlando. SeaWorld check, All four Disney parks check, and even Universal in the distance check.
The couple use Just Marry for their wedding coordination services and Ellis did a great job.
Flowers by Lesley created a beautiful and vibrant for arrangements that adorned the eternity arch. Deep purple, grasses and flowers were highlighted by white tucked here and there against the gold arch. It was absolutely stunning and exactly what Luke and Kelly were dreaming about.
George Street Photography and videography did an amazing job of taking care of all the photograph and video for the couples wedding day. From photos of the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, getting ready, through the ceremony and into cocktail and reception everything was accounted for.
Rev Glynn Ferguson, an official Walt Disney World wedding officiant, and the owner of Sensational Ceremonies, worked with Luke and Kelly to make sure that their wedding ceremony was unique and custom, perfect for the two of them. He gave the two of them a homework assignment and asked them to write and tell him why they love each other.
Kelly wrote: I love Luke because of the way he loves his family, the way he loves his dog, the way he loves the Chiefs, and the way he loves me. I knew Luke was different from any guy I had ever met on the first date, and even more so on the second date. By the third date, I knew I had found a good one. For the first two dates, he drove all the way from downtown Jacksonville, Florida to Gainesville (about a 2 hour drive) just to have a couple of hours with me. And, respectfully, he left each time and thanked me for the date. He did not expect anything, he just drove, took me out, paid for everything, and went home. On the third date, I agreed to come to his place, and he insisted on making dinner for me. Here is where I learned that he was also a great cook and loves to do it – what a catch! This is also when I met his (and now our) dog, Finn. I learned on this date what a good dad Luke is to Finn, and how important he is in his life. I have learned many things in my four plus years with Luke including how devoted he is to the Kansas City Chiefs. Because of this, and how invested I see him get in the games, I have naturally become a devoted fan as well. However, I don’t think any of these facts hold a candle to how caring and loving he is toward his family. I have been with Luke during two of the most tragic and significant moments in his life – the passing of both his mother and father. Watching him go through these ultimate tragedies was heart-wrenching. I get emotional thinking about those times and even writing this now. I am thankful I was able to be by his side and hopefully provide any little support or comfort that he needed. In those moments, I watched the man I already admired so much pour out so much of himself to his family. He did everything in his power to be by their sides in their final moments. He wasted no time flying to Kansas City immediately following each heartbreaking phone call. He did not hesitate to offer every moment of free time he had to be in the hospital by their sides. The amount of love and care I saw come from him was unmatched. In those moments, my love and admiration for him grew tenfold. I knew from those moments and from continuously watching his love for others and good character display, that this is the man I want by my side. And, if I can play any role in his life, I want it to be as his loving wife who can bring him the comfort and care that he so willingly gives to others. I can’t wait to be the one who will be able to provide for his happiness. He deserves happiness more than anyone I know. I love him and I love the way he loves others. I am so happy that I will be able to experience his love every day for the rest of our lives.
Luke wrote: What I love most about Kelly is the way she sees the world with kindness, devotion and adventure. Her aspirations and persistence goes beyond anyone I have ever met. If she wants something she is going to find a way to make it happen. Kelly has the same charisma as the main character in the movie Yes Man, where she is always wanting to be involved, and everyone wants her to be around. She is such a sincere person and makes everyone in the room feel appreciated and acknowledged. She is my adventure partner, where I know she has the same ambitions to want to see the world & experience new things. There is never a boring day with her, and I love that about her. She also has this unique ability to make me feel understood and cherished, for example she has this routine where anytime she is driving, you can guarantee she will be calling me just to talk and get my opinions on what she is thinking. Even if we were just together, I know she will be calling me the instant she gets in her car. It just the little things that she does constantly that she probably doesn’t realize she is doing, but it makes me feel special and needed.
One of the reasons why I knew she was the one was how much she did for me during my hardest times. When both my parents passed within a year of each other she dropped everything for me and was the most supportive and understanding person. She just knew how to lift me up and was able to shine a light in my life when everything else seemed like it was crumbling around me. I knew I could always count on her to be my support and source of comfort. I don’t think she will ever truly understand how much she did for me, because her personality of being so caring and genuine it just comes so naturally to her.
What an incredible wedding for an incredible couple we wish their happiness for a lifetime and they’re very happily ever after!
