Fate and Flounder: Meghan & Jared’s Romantic Clemson Connection
Talk about a story of serendipity! Meghan and Jared ’s journey to finding each other is a perfect reminder that some love stories are simply written in the stars. It all started with a series of near misses before fate finally brought them together at Clemson University.
Their paths almost crossed earlier in 2016 at the University of Southern Mississippi. Jared was looking into a graduate position there, but it didn’t work out. Just a few months later, Meghan started an internship at that exact university!
An Instant Connection at Clemson
The real magic happened at Clemson University. Jared got one of two graduate spots in a lab. Meghan was initially third in line, but when the student ahead of her declined the offer, Meghan was in! This twist of fate brought them together in January 2018 during graduate school orientation. They were both starting their Master’s theses, researching the same fish (Southern Flounder) under the same professor.
Meghan still vividly remembers that first meeting, saying they instantly clicked and became instant best friends faster than she had with anyone before. They both believe wholeheartedly that they were always meant to find each other.
A Fairytale Wedding in the Smoky Mountains
For their romantic wedding day, Meghan and Jared chose the breathtaking Trillium venue in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Imagine a beautiful, sun-splashed afternoon with guests who traveled from all around the country to celebrate their special love!
The entire day was perfectly orchestrated. Lush with Custom Love and Gifts handled the expert direction and planning, ensuring a stress-free wedding. The air was filled with fantastic sounds thanks to Legacy Sound, and the venue was decorated beautifully with stunning floral arrangements from Vintage Florals.

These stunning pictures and video will let them relive their romantic wedding forever! Guests enjoyed an incredible meal from Rothchild Catering with drinks provided by Single Barrel.

A Love Story in Their Own Words
Meghan’s Perspective
Meghan describes Jared as gentle, innovative, strong, optimistic, supportive, and above all, her best friend. She cherishes how their differences complement each other and how he has inspired her to appreciate the subtle beauties of the world. Sharing a love for the outdoors and traveling, especially to National Parks, Meghan says he’s the only one she’d want to “hike through life with.” She deeply appreciates that he never lets a day pass without telling her she’s beautiful and reminding her of his love, feeling incredibly lucky to call him her husband.
Jared’s Perspective
Jared reflects on the last seven years with Meghan as “the most amazing adventure” of his life. From the moment they met, they’ve been best friends. He credits Meghan as his “biggest cheerleader,” whose love, support, and encouragement have pushed him to achieve goals he never thought possible. He adores her fun, kind, and spontaneous personality, highlighting her intelligence and beauty, and how she fills every day with laughter. Jared sees Meghan as his “better half” and the greatest thing that has ever happened to him.
