Historic
Your wedding day is always a historic event in the life of any couple, but when Justin and Mariya got married in the 1932 Casa Feliz it really was historic. Casa Feliz sits in the heart of Winter Park and has become one of the iconic buildings that tourists identify as old Winter Park. Built in 1932 by James Gamble Rogers II, it’s Spanish farmhouse style was the perfect location for Justin and Mariya’s wedding.
The ceremony was conducted on the front threshold of the historic house with family and friends seated on the lawn before them. The cocktail hour was held near the carriage house and the reception in the walled courtyard.
Melissa with Juniper Events worked with Mariya and Justin to make sure every detail came off without a hitch at this historic home. Previously Melissa had worked for the company that managed this property and so it felt like home to her. She was in contact with the amazing vendors that helped to pull off this beautiful evening.
Daylin Lavoy Photography worked their magic around this beautiful couple and the historic home they were getting married at. Their team of photographers made sure to capture every detail of Mariya and Justin’s wedding day. From getting ready photos, first look, ceremony and receptions photos and even photos of the small details that others might overlook.
Asher with A List DJ Entertainment really kept the elegant vibe at this wedding going all night long. From the mingle music before the ceremony, the wedding music, and rockin’ the night away with the reception in this historic house, he did it all!
Arthur’s Catering was in their element with this couple and this historic location. Arthur’s manages Casa Feliz and other historic properties in Central Florida, but what they are best known for is the delicious food they prepare. From appetizers to delicious plated meals, this is a culinary delight like no other.
Justin and Mariya asked Rev. Glynn Ferguson, an Orlando minister and owner of Sensational Ceremonies to help them to create a ceremony that would blend their cultural backgrounds and make their wedding absolutely historic. Rev. Ferguson worked with them to create a custom ceremony that would be beautiful and yet so personal for them. He asked them to write him and tell him why they love each other and he included those beautiful words in their ceremony.
Mariya wrote: When Justin and I met, it was such an instant connection. We are the same person in so many ways but also balance each other. On our first date, we pedaled through muddy waters which showed me his adventurous side and that going through a swamp could be “fun”. Little did I know that our first date would set the precedent to our relationship and how we work through challenges together, side by side, hand in hand.
I love the way Justin looks at me, I love his thoughtful and caring heart. The way he loves his family and the way he’s welcomed in mine. I love how he can brighten my day and make my worries go away. I love that he can comfort me but also give me a nudge when I need it. I love his sweet notes to me throughout the day, even if it’s just because. His patience as we navigate through life and especially this last year. I could say another million things I love about Justin, but to summarize: I’m proud to call him my husband, he has my heart.
Justin wrote: When I look at Mariya, I see my future. There is no question, no doubt, no hesitation – instead I overflow with excitement of what will come next. I feel so incredibly lucky and appreciative to have found someone who makes me this happy and fulfilled. Someone I can so easily trust, love, laugh and cry with. Someone who shares the love of the children, and who puts the love of family above all else. someone who has stood right by my side and been my strength when times became tough. Someone who knows the best moments in life are the tiny ones shared together and someone who openly shares her feelings. Mariya is naturally kind and generously gives to others, has Ukrainian strength and yet loves to smile.
Her amazing beauty can only be shadowed by her tremendous heart and spirit. She is my perfect partner and my true love.
Congratulations on your beautiful wedding. May your journey together last as long as the historic home you were married in.
